Professor Wulf Amelung is the head of Institute of Crop Science and Resource Conservation (INRES), University of Bonn. He is the director of Institute of Bio- and Geosciences, Agrosphere at the Helmholtz Centre for National Research in Juelich, Germany. He is also honored as an academician of the German Academy of Sciences.His research interests focus on soil degradation and restoration, terrestrial biogeochemistry using stable isotopes of nutrients, biomarkers and nanoparticles, soil pollution research (pesticides, antibiotics), soil sensing.
Prof. Wulf Amelung has published more than 300 SCI academic papers, with an H-index of 90, and is a highly-cited researcher (citation records ranked in the top 1%).
Prof. Wulf Amelung was also awarded the Emil Ramann Soil and Environmental Science Outstanding Research Award from the German Soil Science Society. A maximum of two Ramann Medals are awarded each year.
